FLY FISHING CRASH COURSE
Single Day Immersive Experience
Immerse yourself in fly fishing during this eight hour experience. We go from classroom, to stillwater, to moving water all in the same day. An education packed experience that touches on all of the key aspects of the exciting sport of Fly Fishing. This course is a great option for individuals, couples, families, and small groups to learn, fish and have fun together. Also exceptionally great for those preparing to go on a hosted trip. Learn knots, rigging, the overhead cast, the roll cast, wading safety, mending line, matching the hatch, reading the water, handling fish properly and so much more!! By the end of the session, you will have the foundation of skills necessary to begin successfully fly fishing on your own.
1-2 Anglers: $500
3-4 Anglers: $800
Example Itinerary:
Morning
First Hour: Overview of gear, rigging, knots and flies
Second Hour: On Dryland. Basic overhead casting introduction and practice
Third and Fourth Hour: Move to Stillwater. Overview of the roll cast, stillwater species, reading the water, matching the hatch, presenting the fly, line management and fighting the fish. Practice both casts. Free to fish.
LUNCH. Move to River.
Afternoon
Fifth Hour: Wading safety. Line management and mending line on moving water.
Sixth Hour: Overview of river species, reading the water, matching the hatch, presenting the fly and proper fish handling.
Seventh and Eighth Hour: Fish.
*Participants need to have their own waders and boots, if they prefer not to wet wade. Gear can be provided but it is suggested to bring your own… after all, might as well start getting comfortable with what you already have.
