WHAT TO EXPECT

What is the curriculum for a Guided Lesson?

In addition to working on the skills that you make me aware of, we will cover the following topics:

  • The body of water being worked

  • Breakdown of the species being targeted

  • The seasons and how they affect the species being targeted

  • Current water conditions

  • Reading the water

  • Selecting flies based on the hatch and fish behavior

  • Casting

  • Presentation techniques

  • Mending and line management

  • Wading safety

  • Hook-setting and playing fish

  • Proper fish handling

  • Knot Tying

  • Sharpening hooks

What are the requirements?

  • There are absolutely no requirements to take a lesson. Guided Lessons are perfect for beginners and intermediate anglers alike.

What should I bring?

  • Fishing license

  • Polarized Sunglasses

  • Weather appropriate clothing

  • We suggest using your own gear, if you have it. Otherwise, we can provide rod, reel and terminal tackle. We do not have waders and boots to lend.

What if I don’t have waders and boots? In most cases, this is not a problem. Water shoes and an extra pair of pants/socks/shoes and you’ll be just fine.
